Drush in a loop

Attempted to fix errors in sirate install with command 'drush up', but drush first threw warnings about path for themes not found, then went into an endless loop and I had to finally abort with Ctl + C.
This is not the usual behavior, drush works OK on a Drupal 7.28 install I have on same server.
Thank you.

Hi Carlos,

All of ThemeBrain free theme starter packages such as tb_sirate_starter.zip have issue with .info files during packaging process on drupal.org. Therefore, Drush cannot identify exactly the path for any themes or contributed modules included in the starter. You should take a look at this post to find more information.

Kind regards,
Will

I looked at this post you mentioned and followed instructions.
This is my update.info file in /var/www/html/sirate/modules/update.

name = Update manager
description = Checks for available updates, and can securely install or update modules and themes via a web interface.
version = VERSION
package = Core
core = 7.x
files[] = update.test
configure = admin/reports/updates/settings

However drush still goes on a loop on command drush up.
Thank you.

ckosloff@papimalo:/var/www/html/sirate$ drush up
Unknown path for tb_sirate module. [warning]
Unknown path for stark module. [warning]
Unknown path for seven module. [warning]
Unknown path for nucleus_starter module. [warning]
Unknown path for nucleus module. [warning]
Unknown path for garland module. [warning]
Unknown path for bartik module. [warning]
Checking available update data ... [ok]

Loop starts after [ok].
It is critical for me to get drush to work on this starter kit as I cannot update Drupal core from UI, not supported.
